In the world of construction there’s nothing better than being able to say “I love it when a plan comes together,” and this Mission Hills project is one to describe that adage. A new customer comes out of the blue, referred by a longstanding client. The longstanding client says, “you might hate me for this but…” The owner has a seemingly impossible task – complete their wish list (an extensive interior remodel, new deck and a multitude of repairs) in just five weeks so they can move in in time to vacate their current residence due to the lease. And the home is historic. So what made this possible? A focused crew; generous, upbeat and decisive owners, and a trusted friend providing design guidance. And, well, a lot of lists. But when it was all said and done the result was undeniable: new kitchen; new exotic hardwood deck; basement converted to a playroom with built-in furniture; new lights and fixtures throughout; countless plumbing, electrical and drywall repairs; floors sanded and refinished, and an all-new paint job featuring bold but sophisticated color scheme. And of course a happy client who’s plan had come together.
